UNITY

Music videos are a 3 minute opportunity to showcase a blockbuster story in miniature. They often focus on style, flair and imagination distilled down into a short narrative. Many of the greatest Hollywood filmmakers and actors started out working in music videos. Directors such as David Fincher, Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry all started telling short form stories and actors including Matthew McConaughey, Angelina Jolie, Channing Tatum and Zooey Deschanel starred in music videos before they got their big break.

The​ Can’t Hold Us ​project invited our students to make a narrative music video for an unsigned artist with complete creative freedom as to what form their music video would take. The music videos were conceived, developed and produced by the students over the course of a few months before lockdown.
